“X” chromosome

Is it a coincidence that the “X” chromosome looks like a Cheetos cheese puff? I think not!

It’s official. I’ve entered perimenopause. And I must say, I’m disappointed to find out that it’s very much like puberty. I’ve always known that hormones were involved. But, do they have to wreak havoc on your life and all of those around you — again?

I guess the only thing lacking is peer pressure, although having a zit on your chin at the age of 49 doesn’t make you the most attractive person to be around. Thank goodness for the Hallmark Channel. It’s much more acceptable to go through a box of tissue watching those movies than it was AT&T commercials in the 70s, right? And, I’m of the legal age to drink alcohol which helps immensely with bad cramps and various mood swings (although liquor is a depressant so maybe that’s not good). My craving for sugar and salt is back but it now lasts three to six weeks instead of one – yippee!

My mom said she was completely through with menopause by the age of 50. Perhaps I can hit the fast-forward button on this experience, like I do with commercials during my favorite TV shows. Menopause, I’ve giving you until November and then you’re outta here!
