Blogging from A to Z: Baking
My husband gave me the baking idea for blogging, since I enjoy cooking. The first question I asked him was, “Do I actually need to bake something to blog about it?” I keep printing out recipes that sound good and they are stacking up in one of our kitchen cabinets. Recipes for yummy items like Blueberry Coffee Cake and Persimmon Pudding. I’ve printed out recipes for homemade, organic dog biscuits since they seem doable (and it seems healthier for our dog, Hershey). All creatures, great and small
I’m a big fan of God’s creatures. The only things that make me uncomfortable are large, jumping spiders or roach gangs (you know they never travel alone). That said, when I woke up in the middle of the night to let my dog outside, and happened to wander into the living room to find our three cats strategically hunkered down around the swivel chair, I became apprehensive. Tails were swishing in wide strokes (except for Ollie, the Manx cat sans tail) indicating the hunt was on. With only my outdated eyeglasses and lack of courage to guide me, I returned to bed. Down for the count
Our dog, Hershey, is in his “formative” years – he’s almost two. Our little fledgling has learned much. He is potty trained, likes car rides and walks in the park, warmly greets other dogs (and to their dismay cats) with the international canine custom of bottom sniffing. He has “sit,” “stay,” “shake,” and “down” memorized and if you have a treat or he’s not distracted by absolutely anything else, he’d be happy to show you. He only chases the kitties 62.8 percent of the time and he’s been caught licking Tike, although Tike would deny it if asked. He almost sleeps through the night without taking a potty break and…
