    Instant Pot craze

In December, I broke down and purchased an Instant Pot with a gift card bonus from work. I’ve been hearing about how well, and how quickly it cooks everything from a whole chicken to hard boiling the perfect eggs. It makes yogurt (I had no idea that one could make her own yogurt). It makes perfect rice. Apparently it does almost everything. Does it do windows, I asked? No, it doesn’t do windows. In purchasing my incredible new machine, I did research. A to Z Challenge: “Y”ummy recipes, Yummly™ website!

It’s unmatched for its nutritional benefits and everyone I know just coos over it like it’s a newborn baby. I’ve only prepared it once and the spears refused to get tender so I now equated asparagus with stubbornness. And, green, stringy-ness. See my dilemma? Friends and family members say that I just don’t know how to cook it. I’ll agree with that. Even strangers…

    “V”ulture

Photo by Sally King Husband Joe is the grill-meister. He makes an enviable grilled Bourbon salmon, barbecued chicken, and melt-in-your-mouth T-bone (and I’m not a steak-lover). Even his blackened hot dogs are incredible – my mom was Joe’s biggest grilled hot dog fan! There is literally nothing that he can’t grill to perfection. Just ask the vultures! One evening after we’d sat down to enjoy our dinner, we looked out on the deck to see a large (they all look large up close, don’t they?) turkey vulture sitting on our deck, right next to the grill. At this time, we had an outside kitty named O.C. and I was worried…
