Blogging from A to Z: Quinoa

Quinoa – what exactly is it? First, it’s pronounced KEEN-wa. Okay, it was news to me so I figured you’d like to know too! Quinoa is actually made from the seeds of a goosewort (Chenopodium Quinoa), used in Chili and Peru for making porridge or cakes. The term “goosewort” didn’t do a lot to foster confidence in me, either. Keep reading. I’ve been hearing a lot about Quinoa lately – it’s been in almost every recipe or health e-newsletter that I’ve received and it’s been in several magazine articles. Blogging from A to Z: Dogs resemble their owners, yes?

I’ve heard of dogs and how, if you put their photos side-by-side with their owners, many look like they are related. When I first signed up, I had robust intentions of writing the first six blog posts and scheduling them to…

Blogging from A to Z: Baking

My husband gave me the baking idea for blogging, since I enjoy cooking. The first question I asked him was, “Do I actually need to bake something to blog about it?” I keep printing out recipes that sound good and they are stacking up in one of our kitchen cabinets. Recipes for yummy items like Blueberry Coffee Cake and Persimmon Pudding. I’ve printed out recipes for homemade, organic dog biscuits since they seem doable (and it seems healthier for our dog, Hershey). I used to travel extensively with my job and I’d purchase a souvenir cookbook from new places that I visited. Needless to say, I have a lot of…
