Photo © Diane Weidenbenner Thursday, April 25, around 11:45 p.m., my good friend lost her battle against lymphoma. She was a very special person, as most people who knew her will tell you. She was a blessing and incredible friend to me both at work and in my personal life. Her name was Becky and she was a Christian. She’d been diagnosed with aggressive non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January (after successfully beating another type of lymphoma last year.) I am grateful that she is no longer sufffering, no longer in pain.…

“H”ome, sweet home

The smog, traffic, nearby mountains and high-tech employment had always been “my home.” Due to a “providential” set of circumstances, I applied for and was offered a wonderful marketing position with a Catholic non-profit in Terre Haute, Ind., near where my husband was born. After I accepted the offer, I had one day to fly out, look at houses with a realtor, make an offer on a house and return home. It seemed like an insurmountable task. “D”ish network or garden dish?
Photo © Diane Weidenbenner Technology plays a huge role in our lives, whether we want it to or not. Wireless phones keep us connected 24/7. We write on and design with computers. We watch television on flat screens and can record programming for when it’s more convenient to watch and fast forward through commercials. Or, we can watch programming on tablets or other hand-held devices. And, we have the choice of Dish Network or Cable for connectivity. As one technology goes out of style, another takes its place.
