Content right where I’m at …
When things are crazy busy in my life – work, home, my mind (in the form of worry) – I feel like I’m just rushing from one thing to another. Rushing to get up, get dressed, feed the dog, spend a few moments with my husband and then off to work. At work, I boot up my computer just in time to make it to one meeting, then another. I grab a bite to eat prior to the afternoon meeting, and then I find time to work on my projects. So the days go. I accomplish things and check them off my list. And more things move up the list…

“B”rrr, someone frosted the trees!
It’s April 2 and this photo was taken from our front porch this morning. Someone flew over the city and frosted everything. It’s so pretty, and unexpected. That’s the way life is sometimes. I am a fan of snow (having moved from Denver to Indiana) so this was a gift to me but probably a disappointment to many others. I think it’s winter’s last hurrah before giving in to spring’s blooms. It’s been great hearing the birds chirping in the morning but I bet they were surprised as we were with the snow. It’s been a harder winter than normal, and I don’t necessarily mean the weather. Life’s changes have…

“A”pril is here – no foolin’
So, it’s April 1 and the beginning of the A to Z blogathon. It’s also Easter Sunday so I thought this photo was appropriate. It was taken on my way to work one day last year about this time. Believe it or not, we got a few snowflakes just an hour ago but the daffodils are in full bloom and the dogwood blossoms are about to open. Happy spring to everyone, whether you’re celebrating the Risen Christ and the joy and blessings that His living spirit bestows on us daily or you’re celebrating the awakening of plants, animals and a warmer spirit that will lead us into the coming months.…

IWSG: What fuels our writing?
We recently experienced a loss in our family. Our cat of 12 years, Tikey, had to be euthanized because he had cancer and he was in pain. I used to have trouble writing with so much emotion built up, but I find that it is now cathartic. I returned home from the vet and the words began to flow. It’s at those times that I write without a lot of editing or going back and reviewing, until I’ve gotten out all that I wanted to say. I also find that my writing seems better at these times. I’m not worried about what words to use or sentence structure. I’m concerned…

#AtoZChallenge: Zee end!
Okay, I might be cheating a bit with this last entry. I was thinking that while the A to Z Challenge is coming to an end, and April for that matter, spring is beginning to rock! Weeks ago, I saw our pair of foxes romping through the backyard, playing in the tall grass and pausing to eat something. Since it was probably a squirrel or rabbit or other cute, furry creature, I didn’t want to dwell too much on the circle of life. I was just glad to see that the foxes were back again this year. For the past five years, at least, the momma fox has had (at…

#AtoZChallenge: Vintage appeal
Isn’t this old building unique? I’ve never seen anything like it. I love the colorful tiles/bricks that make up the exterior. And, the tiles were even used on what looks like a chimney. My friend, Sandy, loves things that are colorful like this and she and I came across this old building on one of our weekend drives. Are these what are known as subway tiles? They have made a comeback and people are using them again to line back splashes in kitchen and bathroom remodels. Again, not sure if these are the same thing, but I love them. I’m fairly certain they are made of glass or ceramic/clay and…
