“B”lessings can be …

In thinking about God’s grace and movement in my life, and others, I’ve determined that blessings:

-Are unexpected and may take awhile to recognize. Sometimes I only notice blessings in the rear-view mirror. I wish it were otherwise.

-Can be delivered by others. God uses all kinds of people and experiences to give us blessings. We expect it more from our family and friends but it is just as sweet when it comes from strangers.

-Can be asked for, prayed for. Many times I don’t think I’m deserving of blessings so to ask for them is a foreign concept. But, God promises them so by claiming them, we’re acknowledging God’s goodness.

-Can involve fur. Dogs, cats and bunnies qualify. Rescue pets are the best and they may need us as much as we need them.

-Need to be acknowledged. There is usually a relief in receiving a blessing but I can’t forget to thank the Author.

-Are pure gift. Many times blessings come in small packages or the largest picture frame (a sunset, for example). I need to stay aware so I don’t miss even one. There is nothing I can do to earn or deserve them.

What blessings have you received lately? And, what are you grateful for?
