“F”inding my path
Our paths in life are as unique as we are. Nature reminds me that we're shaped by many things along our journey.

“C”amaraderie and the Insecure Writer’s Support Group
If you have not already heard about this wonderful resource group, the Insecure Writer’s Support Group, you’ll want to listen up. I found this group about two years ago and even though I’ve gotten kicked off of the roster several times for non-participation, I recommend it highly for writers and would-be writers. It’s good that they hold you accountable. You only need to publish once, on the first Wednesday of each month, in order to stay on the list. Not so good that I can’t write at least once a month. First, it’s a great group of people who are encouraging and a morale boost. You’ll hear from published writers,…

“D”affodils
Daffodils, as one of the first flowers that bloom, are virtually synonymous with spring and new beginnings. We inherited some in our backyard around one of our trees and while there are some years that they don’t bloom, most of the time they do. Once they burst open and “trumpet in” the changing of seasons, it’s only a matter of time before our other plants, bushes and trees bud out. They are a perfect reminder of God’s grace and blessings to come. Daffodils make me happy! They remind me to be present in the moment, since they are so visible and beautiful, and then they are gone. They are exceptionally…

“C”rochet the night away …
Throwback Thursday – from Aug., 2017. Note the 2018 update at the end! Have you ever wanted to learn how to do something so badly? Something that has alluded you, taunted you, frustrated you, gnawed at you? That’s the way I feel about learning to crochet. I learned how to knit when I was 12. My grandmother taught me and I made a stocking cap. And then I quit. My grandmother knit afghans, sweaters, vests – anything she could think of. She even knit a full set of Barbie clothes for my dolls. My dolls had a beautiful skirt and sweater set, pants, several coats, dresses, etc. She even knit…

“B”rrr, someone frosted the trees!
It’s April 2 and this photo was taken from our front porch this morning. Someone flew over the city and frosted everything. It’s so pretty, and unexpected. That’s the way life is sometimes. I am a fan of snow (having moved from Denver to Indiana) so this was a gift to me but probably a disappointment to many others. I think it’s winter’s last hurrah before giving in to spring’s blooms. It’s been great hearing the birds chirping in the morning but I bet they were surprised as we were with the snow. It’s been a harder winter than normal, and I don’t necessarily mean the weather. Life’s changes have…

“A”pril is here – no foolin’
So, it’s April 1 and the beginning of the A to Z blogathon. It’s also Easter Sunday so I thought this photo was appropriate. It was taken on my way to work one day last year about this time. Believe it or not, we got a few snowflakes just an hour ago but the daffodils are in full bloom and the dogwood blossoms are about to open. Happy spring to everyone, whether you’re celebrating the Risen Christ and the joy and blessings that His living spirit bestows on us daily or you’re celebrating the awakening of plants, animals and a warmer spirit that will lead us into the coming months.…
