#CTST: Starbucks!

Photo courtesy of Starbucks’ website. If I get to enjoy this treat again, you bet I’ll be taking my own photo. My first one disappeared so quickly …

In Celebrating the Small Things, I have to applaud Starbucks.

One day this week I had a warm, chocolate hazelnut croissant and a Chai tea from Starbucks. It was heavenly!

I don’t ordinarily promote corporate establishments but I had been having a hard week. Work was busy and I had a pinched nerve in my neck. I finally broke down and went to the chiropractor. On the way back to work, I stopped at Starbucks and noticed a new seasonal pastry, the tasty croissant, and I ordered one with my favorite, a Chai tea latte with almond milk.

Not only was my neck feeling better after the doctor’s appointment, but my tummy was now in heaven. The croissant was warm and buttery, for sure. The chocolate was melted and the nuts were toasted so the entire taste sensation was a-mazing! Top it off with the spicy sweetness of the Chai tea and it was the perfect duo. It was super cold outside (single-digit degree weather) but I couldn’t have cared less because I was happy.

Isn’t it amazing how certain sensations can make us feel good? I’ve always associated Chai tea with relaxation and good thoughts, so drinking it immediately puts me in a better state of mind. It’s the memory of past drinks that conjures up another pleasant experience.

The croissant was such a nice addition. I hope they keep it on the menu for awhile. By the time I went by at 1 p.m., they only had one croissant remaining. I have a feeling that it was just waiting for me to drive up. If you haven’t tried one yet, you have to treat yourself. It’s well worth it!

Thanks for visiting! We had today off as a holiday and it was so nice. Made two mixed berry pies and they smell so good in the oven. Hope you have a great week!

The title of the post already put a smile on my face. Sorry that you have been having trouble, but it’s wonderful that something so simple could make you feel nice. I just drank a Chai tea this afternoon with a piece of cake too (although not from Starbucks…so I’m a little jealous 😉 ) Have a great week!

I’m glad you enjoy Chai tea also. It’s really good with a slice of pumpkin bread (around Thanksgiving time). All the spices meld together. Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope your week is good.
